Abstract

This research and development project aims to meet the requirements of the IT Department of the Public Medical and Hospital Unit in Mexico City. It is launching an ambitious project focused on incorporating new technological tools to initiate a digital modernization challenge in its administrative and care processes.

The first stage involves developing an Android application for mobile devices (specifically, smartphones) in the Medical Emergencies area that can quickly and easily consult the medical records of patients admitted to the Shock, Short Stay, and Observation areas. This app displays patient data, their medical history, and the medical assessment and relevant notes recorded by the attending physicians.

This area, and any other medical unit in the country, is considered of vital importance due to the delicate health condition of the insured patient whose life is at stake. Patients are received 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Care is uninterrupted and is covered by shifts of an extraordinary group of specially selected medical specialists to carry out medical work under pressure.
