Music is now regarded as a universal language, much like mathematics, that requires creativity to develop. Both are abstract languages that demand learning to interpret them. Based on this premise, the aim of this study is to apply the didactic strategy known as Musical Exams, which serves as a complement to other teaching strategies aimed at reducing student failure rates in basic science subjects at the Technological Institute of Ciudad Juárez. This strategy leverages the creativity of students to connect mathematics with music.
The expected outcomes of applying this strategy are enhanced student confidence and motivation, which in turn lead to improved learning and higher pass rates. An additional benefit observed is the reduction of stress and anxiety among students. The study concludes that Musical Exams are a valuable tool that opens new perspectives for students to develop academically, achieving satisfactory results in mathematics-related subjects, using an instrument to which everyone can relate: music.
