Intelligent production control system based on power BI and data automation

Abstract

The following work outlines the stages of creating software automation that controls production flows within the industrial area. The project was developed using a practical and structured approach, based on the waterfall model methodology. This approach allowed the system to be built in stages, continuously validating its functionality with key users at the plant. Throughout the process, techniques such as requirements analysis, database design, no-code application development in Tulip, data modeling in Power BI, and key performance indicators (KPI) visualization were combined.

Ana María Sosa Pintle , National Technological Institute of Mexico

ANA MARÍA SOSA PINTLE is a professor at the National Technological Institute of Mexico, Puebla campus. She studied computer science and obtained a master's degree in computer systems. She has 31 years of teaching experience at the Technological Institute of Puebla (January 1995 to present). She is an advisor for multiple professional residency projects, creativity contests, entrepreneurship, and InnovaTec.

Josefina Porras Aguirre , National Technological Institute of Mexico

JOSEFINA PORRAS AGUIRRE is a full-time professor at TecNM, Puebla campus. She studied for a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science, specializing in Databases. She has 29 years of professional experience. Lecturer at the Comitán Institute of Technology in the Bachelor's degree programs in Computer Science and Computer Systems Engineering (February 1, 1997 to September 14, 2021); Coordinator of the Computer Systems Engineering program (2005 to 2010), professor at the Technological Institute of Puebla in the Information and Communications Technology Engineering program (September 15, 2021 to date).

Violeta Martínez Ramírez , National Technological Institute of Mexico

Dr. Violeta Martínez Ramírez, who studied Computer Systems Engineering in Programming, holds a Master's Degree in Education Sciences and a Doctorate in Education. She is a professor in the Systems and Computing Department at the Technological Institute of Puebla, teaching mainly Programming in Information Technology and Communications Engineering. She is a PRODEP Desirable Profile (2020), leader of the Academic Body “Applied Computing” (2021), and head of Outreach Projects (2020).

Luciano Machorro Teresa, National Technological Institute of Mexico

MI. Teresa Luciano Machorro is a professor at TecNM, Puebla campus, with a degree in Computer Systems Engineering and a Master's degree in Engineering. She has 21 years of professional experience in teaching and academic-administrative management. She has been a professor at IT Puebla at various times between 2015 and the present. She has held management positions as Academic Deputy Director at IT Atitalaquia and Coordinator of ICT Engineering at IT Puebla. She has also held positions at TecNM and DGEST, as well as teaching and heading Human Resources at IT Tlaxiaco.

Adrián Uriel Mezura Galindo , National Technological Institute of Mexico

Adrián Uriel Mezura Galindo is an engineer currently completing his degree in Information and Communications Technology at the Technological Institute of Puebla. He has developed data analysis and process automation solutions during his professional collaboration with Stanley Black & Decker, where he implemented real-time information visualization and extraction systems for decision-making. His main areas of interest include data science, process optimization through technology, and the development of digital tools applied to industry.
