Abstract

The attendance control system, coded with macros in Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications and called Attendance Soft, was developed in Excel to meet the needs of a professional teacher at a primary school, facilitating the daily recording of class attendance. It digitally alerts students of the highest number of absences and automatically generates a family report, which is sent to notify them of a negative score and to implement preventive measures jointly with the school and family that could impact their academic performance during the school year. At the end of the school year, the system issues perfect attendance certificates to students who cultivate the value of responsibility.

Violeta Martínez Ramírez , National Technological Institute of Mexico

Dr. Violeta Martínez Ramírez, who studied Computer Systems Engineering in Programming, holds a Master's Degree in Education Sciences and a Doctorate in Education. She is a professor in the Systems and Computing Department at the Technological Institute of Puebla, teaching mainly Programming in Information Technology and Communications Engineering. Desirable Profile PRODEP (2020), leader of the Academic Body “Applied Computing” (2021), and head of Outreach Projects (2020).

 

Blanca Estela Véliz Sugasti , National Technological Institute of Mexico

Blanca Estela Vélez Sugasti holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Industrial Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de la Laguna. She has held administrative positions as head of the Information Center, Professional Studies Division, and Teacher Training. She has participated in academic events and in the design of specialised modules in Industrial Engineering, as well as collaborating with Innovatec. She has training in reading and is a certified auditor of the Quality Management System. She is currently a lecturer and head of the Methods Engineering Laboratory at the Instituto Tecnológico de la Laguna.

Lorena Elizabeth Balandra Aguilar , National Technological Institute of Mexico

Lorena Elizabeth Balandra Aguilar holds a PhD in Education, with previous training in Higher Education and Computer Systems. Since 1996, she has been teaching at TecNM, with experience at the Technological Institutes of Comitán and Puebla. She has been a full-time professor since 2013. She has been a member of academic bodies, the State System of Researchers, and the National Network for Data Monitoring and Collection. She is a Level I National Researcher for CONAHCYT for the period 2025–2029.

Ana Wendy Gómez Flores, National Technological Institute of Mexico

Ana Wendy Gómez Flores holds a Master's Degree in E-Commerce from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, obtained in May 2011, and a Degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the Tuxtla Gutiérrez Institute of Technology, obtained in May 1996. She has been a full-time lecturer since July 1996 and is currently attached to the Systems and Computing Department at the National Technological Institute of Mexico/Comitán Technological Institute, with recognition of desirable profile for full-time lecturers from July 2017 to date. Member of the Academic Body in Training from 2015-2018 and 2023-2025, member of the National Data Monitoring and Collection Network since 2024.

Miguel Ángel Pérez Irigoyen, National Technological Institute of Mexico

Miguel Angel Pérez Irigoyen is an intern engineer in Information and Communications Technology, a graduate of the Technological Institute of Puebla. During his training, he participated in the development of a web-based management system for extracurricular activities and an attendance monitoring project. He has a particular interest in databases and programming.
