HPC lab proposal applying open source software for cluster design

HPC or High Performance Computing is not new in Mexico since there are 16 Supercomputing centers registered in CONACYT, there are not many, however 9 of these are concentrated in the interior of the Republic in states such as Puebla, Guadalajara, San Luis Potosi, San Luis Potosi, in the State of Mexico and Mexico City, two are in the North-West in Baja California, another two are in Yucatan, there is one in Chiapas and another in Sonora, they are dedicated to various tasks of scientific, academic, and some even commercial application[3]. There could be more, such as the CIMAV located in Chihuahua, but it was not on the list at the time of this research.
Supercomputing, as the term indicates, allows performing very sophisticated and complex calculations that require parallel processing, something that PC computers cannot do.
The following work proposes the need for the ITCJ to create an HPC system through a “cluster” applying free software to be used in the training of teachers in these areas and in the development of laboratory practices for various specialty subjects of the careers of Computer Systems Engineering and Tics, since currently there is no such physical infrastructure laboratory, the practices are performed through the creation of a “clusterbeuwolf” the so-called supercomputer of the poor[7] and in this case with virtual machines and to achieve compliance with the academic programs of the specialty subjects of these careers. However, the ITCJ loses the opportunity to be an HPC NODE to support research teachers who have projects where they need to apply HPC, and also loses the opportunity to link and collaborate in providing solutions to problems that companies may present. This will be discussed in more detail below.
