Management of educational programs in accordance with the ISO 21001 standard and the 2018 framework of reference of the CACEI

Abstract

In response to challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, which began in March 2020, Higher Education Institutions within the National Technological Institute of Mexico (TecNM) were forced to close their doors and implement strategies to continue their professional training activities. Initially, these strategies were implemented individually, but efforts to create a unified institutional approach for subsequent semesters remain lacking. More than two years later, there is still no comprehensive strategy that involves all the Technological Institutes. This work aims to analyze the alignments between the ISO 21001:2018 standard and the CACEI 2018 Reference Framework in the international context. The goal is for these two guidelines to help systematize TecNM's operations and address any potential eventualities in an organized manner. The analysis focused on sections 7. Support, which outlines the provision of necessary resources to improve the satisfaction of educational stakeholders, and 8. Operation, which covers operational planning, control of educational products and services, as well as the planning, design, development, learning outcomes, teaching methods, learning environments, assessments, and improvement strategies. The proposal developed matches these aspects with the CACEI 2018 framework to be integrated into the TecNM Quality Management System.
