Policy on Conflict of Interest Disclosure

IP

Authors are required to declare, within their manuscripts, the existence of any conflict of interest related to the research findings presented, and assume full responsibility for the accuracy and truthfulness of the information provided. The conflict of interest statement constitutes a mandatory section within the structure of the scientific article.

Definition

A conflict of interest is understood to exist when an author or authors (or the institution to which they are affiliated), a reviewer, or an editor holds personal, professional, or financial relationships that may interfere with, or influence—whether actually or perceived—their judgment regarding the preparation, evaluation, or publication of a manuscript. Although financial conflicts of interest are the most common, more subtle forms may also arise, such as academic rivalry or intellectual affinity toward particular lines of research.

Scope of Disclosure

The obligation to disclose a conflict of interest in writing applies to all parties involved in the editorial process: authors, reviewers, and editors.

Purpose of the Policy

This policy is not intended to prevent the publication of works by authors with potential conflicts of interest. Its purpose is to ensure that such conflicts are clearly and transparently identified, enabling reviewers—and, most importantly, readers—to assess whether authors may be subject to any predisposition that could potentially influence the results or interpretations presented in the work.
