Policy on Ethical Violations

IPSUMTEC employs text-matching and similarity detection systems for the analysis of all submitted contributions, without exception, as part of its standard editorial evaluation process.

The journal adheres to the principal international initiatives on good practice in scholarly publishing and adopts the flowcharts and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as its reference framework for identifying, investigating, and resolving cases of misconduct in scientific publishing, including, among others, plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, improper authorship, duplicate publication, and undisclosed conflicts of interest.

Procedure

In the event of suspected or confirmed ethical misconduct, the IPSUMTEC Editorial Committee will proceed in accordance with the protocols established by COPE, ensuring a transparent, impartial, and well-documented process that may result in manuscript rejection, requests for correction, retraction of the published article, or formal communication with the institutions to which the authors involved are affiliated, depending on the severity of the case.
