Acceptance rate

According to the editorial indicators published on the official portal of Revista IPSUMTEC (https://revistas.milpaalta.tecnm.mx/index.php/IPSUMTEC/index), the evolution of the acceptance rate reflects the progressive strengthening of the journal's manuscript evaluation and selection processes throughout its editorial history.

During its early years of operation (2018–2021), the journal recorded acceptance rates above 75%, characteristic of an initial stage focused on building its author base and expanding scientific dissemination in the technological field. However, with the sustained increase in the volume of manuscripts received—rising from 6 submissions in 2018 to a historic high of 104 in 2025—and the implementation of more rigorous review criteria, the acceptance rate has shown a downward and stabilizing trend, standing at 60.57% in 2025 and 54.54% for the January–June 2026 period (in progress).

On average, considering the 2018–2025 period, the journal presents an overall acceptance rate of approximately 68.33%, calculated from 287 published manuscripts out of 420 received during that period. When incorporating the partial data for January–June 2026, with 33 manuscripts received, 18 published, and an acceptance rate of 54.54%, the cumulative average for the 2018–2026 period stands at approximately 67.33%, confirming the trend toward greater editorial selectivity. This indicator is calculated based on the ratio of published to received manuscripts for each calendar year, providing an objective measure of the journal's editorial selectivity and the evolution of its quality standards.

A particularly relevant aspect is the transformation in the authorship profile. While in 2018, 20% of authors were internal collaborators affiliated with the institution, this proportion has steadily declined to 0% in 2024, 2025, and the first half of 2026, with a total of 212, 168, and 72 external authors, respectively, in each of these periods. This trend reflects the journal's growing openness and outreach toward the external academic and scientific community, reinforcing its standing as a publication of national and international scope.

The gradual decline in the acceptance rate, together with the growth in the number of manuscripts received and the diversification of the author profile, demonstrates an increasingly rigorous editorial policy committed to the quality, originality, and scientific relevance of published works. Furthermore, these indicators are updated annually based on manuscript submission and publication records for each volume, ensuring the transparency and traceability of Revista IPSUMTEC's editorial process.
