Authorship Policy

IPSUMTEC Journal promotes transparency, scientific rigor, and academic accountability in the attribution of research credit. To ensure editorial integrity and prevent poor practices—such as ghost, gift, or guest authorship—the journal adopts the international standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Criteria for Authorship Attribution

To be formally recognized as an author or co-author of a manuscript submitted to IPSUMTEC, each participant must substantially meet the following four criteria:

Substantial contribution: having actively participated in the conception, study design, data acquisition, or the analysis and interpretation of results.
Drafting and critical revision: having contributed to drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for essential intellectual content.
Final approval: having approved the final version of the article to be submitted for review and ultimately published.
Full accountability: agreeing to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the manuscript are appropriately investigated and resolved.

These criteria are cumulative: meeting only some of them does not qualify an individual for formal authorship attribution.

Collaboration Roles (CRediT Taxonomy)

The journal recommends and encourages authors to explicitly declare each team member's specific contribution within the manuscript, in accordance with the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT), ANSI/NISO Standard Z39.104-2022. Roles include, among others: conceptualization, methodology, software, validation, formal analysis, investigation, resources, data curation, writing – original draft, writing – review and editing, visualization, supervision, project administration, and funding acquisition.

Acknowledgments

Contributors who participated in the development of the study but do not simultaneously meet all four authorship criteria do not qualify as authors. However, they must be transparently acknowledged in the "Acknowledgments" section at the end of the article, subject to their prior express authorization.
