Abstract

Tutorial action is an innovative strategy in higher education systems, which, if carried out in the appropriate way, that is, accompanying the tutored student on the course of their studies, will allow them to have a didactic orientation, which lays the foundations for the acquisition of study habits and effective communication. A teacher is assigned a complete group of new entrants as tutors, which consists of 30 to 40 students. It is very difficult to comply with this tutorial action without the support of an appropriate computer system. Currently, the Technological Institute of Cd. Juárez has a Tutoring Management System based on the Moodle platform. However, this system is limited only to having communication with the Institutional Coordination of Tutoring for the delivery of evidence from the tutors. It does not allow the tutor to have the data of the students, granting real functionality in the tutorial action, not only in the first semester but for the entire period of the student's stay until graduation. For this reason, this work is a proposal for the development of a Tutoring Management System based on Free Software and Open Source, accessible via the Web and smartphone. The methodology to be followed is based on the application development life cycle for the web, coupled with the 6M's for mobile applications. The resulting product will be a complete system that allows both communication of the tutor with the Institutional Coordinator to comply with the required evidence, as well as being a tool in the tutorial action. It will keep the student and the tutor in constant, purposeful, and effective communication, fulfilling the purpose of tutoring.
