Abstract

The associations of plants with mycorrhizal fungi obtained benefits as increased absorption of nutrients from the soil, water relations, as well as protection against pathogens. Capsicum annuum var. glabriusculum is at risk of spread. The objective of the work was to evaluate the effect of the application of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on amashito seedlings under two environmental conditions, two types of soils and substrate. It was carried out in the greenhouse of the Tecnológico Nacional de Mexico Huimanguillo campus. Fifteen days after the transplant, there was a uniform height in the treatments. At 29 days after transplanting, greater height was observed in the Fluvisol soil, compared to Vertisol and Peat-moss. Regarding the diameter of the stem, significant differences were found due to the effect of the soil. The fresh root weight presented a significant difference due to the effect of the soil, with Fluvisol presenting the highest weight followed by the Peat-moss substrate. The content of chlorophyll a, b, and total did not show significant differences due to the effect of the inoculation of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and the environment. The seedlings at 36 days after sowing showed the greatest height in the Fluvisol soil, as well as the greatest number of leaves, greatest root length, and greatest stem diameter.
