Abstract

This project presents the situation that led the Manufacturing company to seek a solution to possible problems that may retain the production process, from fabrication and assembly to quality and packaging review, concluding that there are indispensable machines within its process that depend on a computer to function and unfortunately, due to issues of obsolescence, age and the fact that components or spare parts for these computers are no longer produced, generating uncertainty for the company’s team.

The solution was to implement a migration project, applying the Scrum Methodology to completely replace the obsolete computers with new ones.Starting by analyzing the requirements, and at the same time developing the process diagrams of how the project would be carried out. The main ones are the analysis and categorization of computers, the validation of software functionality, and the implementation process, among others that helped to carry out the present project.

The entire panorama was examined, including which computers applied, what the change options were, and above all, the software installed in each of them was analyzed. Likewise, compatibility and functionality were reviewed, so that the change was almost transparent to final users.

The project ended satisfactorily, obtaining the expected results. All the computers were managed to be updated with state-of-the-art equipment, keeping their compatible software versions for the correct performance and being almost transparent to the user, reflecting improvements in machine speed and efficiency, obtaining a much faster process of production, assembly, review, and packaging.
